ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Abstract: »It has been argued that crime-drama shows (i.e. Law and Order) educate the public on all matters related to crime, violence, and justice; however, these shows tend to misrepresent these issues, which distorts these realities. The present study examines the demographics of sex offenders portrayed in the popular crime television show Law and Order: SVU. A content analysis of episodes that depicts prepubescent victims (13 and younger) and one offender will be conducted to determine whether the television series accurately depicts sex offenders.« (Source: Online Program)
